Terms of Service
Last Updated: July 30, 2026. Please read these terms carefully before downloading or using the SilenceTrimmer desktop software.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using the SilenceTrimmer desktop application ("Software") or visiting silencetrimmer.com and its subdomains ("Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you are prohibited from using the Software.
2. License Grant & Prohibited Uses
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run SilenceTrimmer on up to two (2) devices owned or controlled by you for personal or commercial use, subject to license activation. You can free up a device slot at any time by deactivating the license on that device.
You agree not to:
- Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code of the Software.
- Bypass, modify, defeat, or tamper with the Software's license key verification checks, activation records, or free trial period — including altering your system clock or device identity to extend a trial.
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the Software or license keys.
- Distribute cracked versions or use unauthorized license keys. Violation of this clause results in immediate license termination without refund.
3. Free Trial
SilenceTrimmer offers a 14-day free trial with full functionality — no watermarks, no length limits, and no credit card required. The trial begins when you start it from inside the app, not when you download it.
Each device is entitled to one trial. The entitlement is recorded on our servers against a non-reversible identifier for that device, so reinstalling the app, clearing its data, or using a different email address does not grant a second trial. Attempting to circumvent this is a breach of section 2.
Importing, detecting and editing remain available after the trial ends; exporting and rendering require an active license. A connection is needed once to start the trial; the app then runs offline for its duration.
4. Intellectual Property
SilenceTrimmer and all associated source code, algorithms, visual styles, branding, and assets are the exclusive intellectual property of the software creators. The Software is licensed, not sold, and we retain all rights not expressly granted to you under these Terms.
5. Subscriptions, Payments & Lifetime Plan
Payment processing: Transactions are handled by Creem (our Merchant of Record). Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly/annual) unless cancelled.
Refund Policy: We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for all purchases. Refund requests must be made within 30 days of the purchase date by contacting [email protected].
"Lifetime" Pro License Terms: A "Lifetime" license is perpetual: it never expires, and the Software versions you have received will continue to function indefinitely, including fully offline — license validation does not depend on our servers staying online. It includes every update we release for SilenceTrimmer, for as long as we continue to develop it, at no further cost — there is no update window, and we will not charge existing Lifetime holders for a future version. What "Lifetime" does not do is oblige us to keep developing: it is a commitment never to bill you again, not a guarantee of perpetual development, support, or hosted services. Should we retire the product, you keep the last version released to you and it goes on working.
6. Your Media & Your Responsibility
SilenceTrimmer processes your files entirely on your own computer. We host no uploads, we operate no cloud storage for your media, and we never receive, review, or monitor the files you edit.
- You retain full ownership of your source media and of everything you export. We claim no rights over your work.
- You are solely responsible for holding the necessary rights, permissions and consents for the material you edit, and for how you use the results.
- The Software writes new files rather than altering your originals, but you remain responsible for keeping your own backups. See section 8.
7. Software Lifecycle & Discontinuation
The company reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue development, support, or distribution of SilenceTrimmer at any time, including shutting down activation servers, update pathways, or support systems.
Because licenses are validated offline, already-activated copies of the Software will continue to function after any such shutdown. Active subscriptions affected by a discontinuation will not be renewed and unused remaining subscription time will be refunded on request. Beyond that, in the event of product retirement we shall have no further liability, and you shall not be entitled to additional compensation or damages.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
"As Is" Warranty: SilenceTrimmer is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, that silence detection will match your editorial judgement on every clip, that video/audio rendering will be exact, or that exported timeline sequences will align flawlessly in all versions of every third-party editing application.
Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, SilenceTrimmer, its creators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including data loss, file corruption, or loss of editing client revenue) arising out of the use or inability to use the Software. In no event shall our total cumulative liability exceed the total amount paid by you for the Software in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Service and any disputes arising out of the Software shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the country/region where the software creators operate, without regard to conflicts of law principles. Any dispute shall first be addressed through good faith informal negotiation before pursuing other legal actions.
